To identify your bearing requirements more precisely, it helps to have the following information to hand:

• Marks and numbers which are normally to be found somewhere on the bearings.
• Inside dia. (I.D.) x outside dia. (O.D.) x width (W).
  (bearing dimensions are normally presented in this format.)

Most bearings, especially for industrial applications follow an internationally recognised bearing identification system. In some cases, the bearing will have a prefix, followed by a group of numbers, followed by a suffix. Some of the common prefixes and suffixes are mentioned below:
